Lamb, .North Island, 51d ; other, unchanged. New Zealand beef — Ox fores, 2id; ox hinds, 2|d. River Plate sheep, heavy, 3id; do. light, 3 9-16 d. Beef, fores, 2 l-16d ; hinds, 2 9-16 d. AGENT-GENERAL'S REPORT. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received tho following cablegram from the Agent-General, dated London, 22nd inst:— The sale for all qualities of mutton at present is dull. Average price to-day for Canterbury mutton is 4fd per lb ; average price to-day for Dunedin, Southland, and W.M.E. Co. brands is 4|d; for other brands of North Island mutton, 4d per lb. There is only a small domand for lamb, at quotations cabled you last week. Small supplies of Australian lamb are on the -market, average price to-day for which is 4|d per lb. Tlie b,eef market is overstocked and depressed, supplies of * River Plato beef being very heavy. Average price for hindquarters of New Zealand beef is 3&d per lb, forequarters 2id per lb. The butter market remains very flat. Average price choicest (store.d) New Zealand butteiTio-day is 94s per cwt. No change in the prico of Danish ; Australian, 105s. The cheese market is firm, with an improved demand. Canadian, 465. There is a better demand for hemp in all positions at about £30 per ton. Since cabling you last week there has been no alteration in the cocksfoot seed market.
