One of the two mild sensations which enlivened the proceedings in the Legislative Council last night, during the last day of the Committee stage of the LicenBing Bill, concerned the bona. fide traveller, and, after an interesting discussion, the Council solved the problem of dealing with this elusive personality by abolishing him. The inaugural meeting of the Political Labour League was held last evening, and a resolution was passed establishing a central branch of the League here. Mr. W. F. Shortt will hold an unreserved sale of pottery and earthenware at his mart, WiHis-street, on Monday at 2 o'olock. The steam launch Moturoa will run excursions to H.M.S. Psyche to-morrow as advertised. The s.s. Duchess will run excursions to Day's Bay to-morrow at 10.15 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Full timetable appear^ in another column. Messrs. W. Lingard and Co. give full particulars elsewhere- of the sections they are to offer for sale on the 3rd of next month. A wide range of selection is "offered, and the properties will no doubt receive the attention of investors. The whole of the York Bay Estate is now subdivided and comprises some fortythree sections, ranging from a quarter-acre to 100 acres in extent. The property is situated, between Day's Bay and LowTy Bay. Since the beginning of this year the estate has been roaded. Several houses have been built, and some are now in course of erection. As suitable building ( land on this side of the harbour is now ' getting scarce, it is anticipated that the sections will find a ready sale. Free trips by Messrs. Cudby Bros.' coach will be run from Day's Bay to York Bay on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday next. Full particulars are advertised and intending purchasers are requested to send for plans and details to the auctioneers, Messrs. W. H. Turnbull and Co. Representatives of the firm will be on the ground to assist probable buyers in tho selection of sections. A changed list of properties for sale by Meiwrs. W. H. Harcourt and Co. announce the following auction sales of properties to be held at their rooms, 48, Lambton-quay: — On Friday, 28th October, at 2.30 p.m., sections in Ghuznee and Marion streets, suitable for business sites. Plan and particulars may be had on application to the firm. F6llowing this- sale they will submit a section together with, the six-roomed dwelling thereon and known as No. 12, Ellice-3treot ; also properties situate in Fernhill-terrace. This ovening, at 7.30 o'clook, at St. Augustine's Schoolroom, Petone, tho firm will hold a sale of properties which, owing to the inclemency of the weather, was postponed from last week. On Monday next, art 11 o'clock, at the premises of Mr. H. T. KokemuH-er, No. 165, Lambton-quay, the whole of his pork butchery plant and stock, also the household furniture, etc., as dertailed. Messrs. Bethune and Co. have several announcements in our auction columns. They will hold a sale of properties at their rooms, Featherston-street, on Wednesday, 26th inst., at 2.30 p.m. On that date they will submit, under instructions from tho trustees in the estate of the late Elizabeth Heath, the property known as Gear Island, Lower Hutt, containing earns 108 acres of river flat land. The sale will bo subject to an existing lease at £160 per annum, which runs oat on 25th September, 1910. Other properties to which special attention is called include a leasehold with a^ frontage to Cuba-street, with two shops and dwellings, and land having a frontage to Abel Smith-street, with shops and dwellings. A central freehold property, situated in Roxburgh-street, with four-roomed house, is also offered. Twelve allotments at Seatoun extension, Worser Bay, are to be offered on the 2nd prox.
