BRITISH WORKING MEN.
DR. CAMPBELL JUSTIFIES HIS CENSURES. [press association.] (Received October 22, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, 21st October. Dr. Campbell, Pastor of the City Temple, London, addressing the Paddington and Kensington Trades and Labour Councils, justified his recent statement that working men were often lazy, unthrifty, improvident, and sometimes immoral, foul-mouthed, and untruthful. He disavowed making an indiscriminate attack on all workmen. The speaker was thanked, and his courage was recognised, and he was cheered.
