Messrs. W. M. Bannatyno and Co., Ltd., have been appointed local agents for the steamer Storm, which shortly is to be employed in the trade hetween Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The steamer (which is now on her way out from England) is expected to arrive in New Zealand in the course of a few dajs. The New Zealand and African steamer Banffahire is to leave Sydney to-day for Port Chalmers. From Port Chalmers she will come on to Lyttelton, Picton, and Wellington, leaving this port finally about »he 18th. It is probable that Timaru will also be included in the loading ports. The PanSi, which has been laid up for some time past, is to come off the Patent Slip this afternoon or to-morrow. After undergoing some repairs it is understood that the vessel will sail for Napier, where she will be placed in the fishing trade. The Union Company has been advised that the Loongana arrived at Fremantle on Saturday, and was to leave for Melbourne on Saturday night or yesterday morning. She is due at Melbourne oil Thursday. The Jlokoia, due from Sydney on Wednesday, is bringing altogether 73 saloon and 70 steerage passengers for New Zealand ports, and 660 tons of cargo for Wellington.
