MINED APPROACHES TO THE TOWN. (Received October 1, 8.43 a.m.) LONDON, 30th. September. General Kuropatkin, with his main force, has withdrawn northwards of Mukden. Strong bodies defend both, flanks, and there are many gun positions, trenches, and entanglements, especially along the western road to Mukden. .A. strong rearguard is south, of the town and at the southern approaches, which are mined.
