At to-night's mooting of tho City Council an offer was rocoived from tho Waipori Falls Powor Company, tho directors sfcnling they wero prepared to recommend the* shareholders to accept £35,000 in 4A por cent. Corporation debenture* for the wholo rights and assets of tha company, tho Corporation also to tako ovor all commitmonts and contracts of tho company as at lHt September, tho offor to remain opon for two days. Tho mutter was referred to the Tramways Committoo without discussion.
The Customs rownuo collected today totalled £2068 16s Bd. The Arbitration Court will tnke tho following compciMulinn matters to-morrow : M'Crowtnn v. Barton, notice to review wwkly nayiTM'tits under award previously rnmlftj (.VJlicr v. H-opkins, ckutn of 30s during i/jftAjincity < Roberts v.
