As a matter of fact, tho area was practically tho same na live years ago, being 569,639 acres now, an against 569,075 in 1898. In regard +0 .sheep, he believed the fallingoif in Hocks of the colony was righting itself. During the current year tho number of ewes bad increased by 150,000, having reached 10,090,041, of which 5,070,726 wero in tho South Island.
