Tucker, a well-known resident at Masterton, died early this morning. Mr. B. N. Blackburne (brother of Captain Blackburne, of Wellington)) who resigned tho charge of tho Anglican Church at Rotorun. and returned Homo for the benefit of his health, will probably resume work in tho Bristol diocei»c. His health has been quito restored. Mr. Fred. Graham, who has boon appearing at the Theatre Royal under Mr. P. R. Dix'r management for some weeks, leaves for Sydney by to-day's boat. Ho will bo absent for about threo weeks, and will then, it is understood, return to Mr. Di-V for a timd, afterwards going on tour with a company of his own. -,' Mr. D. M. Poison, who was recently promoted from the position of sucotld assislaut master at Clyde-quay School, to first assistant master at Thorndon, was, prior to his taking up his now duties, presented with two hrfndsomo gifts — ono from tho girls and another from tho boys of his class. Mr. W. M. Joynt, of Cluistchurcli, ha» received intimation that he- has been appointed manager of the Canterbury Branch of the National Insurance Company, in succession to tho lato Mr. A. Carrick" Mr. Joynt, who is a native of Christchurch, joined tho company twonty years ago under Mr. Carries. Mr. R. G. Hallamoro, of the New Zealana Shipping Company, who hns been stationed in Napior for several years, has been promoted to tho position of manager of tlio company's branch in Gisbornn Mr TIallo!moro wfcs at ono time captain of tho Wellington Football Club, and was also a prominent member of tho Star Boating Club.
