The Christchurch Meat Company has written to tho Mayor stating that it disagrees with the charges fixed by the City Council (or slaughtering in the district, considering them excessive. The fees fixed were : — liktch carcase of beef or any portion, 4« ; each enrcnee of mutton, lamb, veal, pork, or any portion, Is. ' In view of tho wording of the Act " that the Council fix «uch fees as are agreed upon for the meat from stock siaughteied in tho meal export slaughterhouafe." it ie expected a deadlock will occur.
