KINGDON T. HUTT RIVER BOARD. A further s'tujro. of tJie big claim for coinpen«atk>n lo3k«u by Elizabeth J*no Kingdon ugainst tlio Dutt River Board came into the Supremo Court to-day before the Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Dcnniston, nnd Mr. Justice Cooler. Tho actuiil amount of th© claim is £22,000, of which £21,000 is claimed in respoot of soiuo .8 acres 3 roods 9 perch 68 of land taken, and the remaining £1000 in respect ol 20,000 yards of earth, gravel, wind, or shingle removed by the Board before the taking of the land. The livud had liven vested in the Board by proclamation dated 26th May, 1903, for the purposes of deepening and widening the channol of the llutt River. It is Bitunted between the ucluhl waterway of the river when at its nonnivl condition and the pasture land of the claimant, and at the date ot taking' consisted of deposit* of shingle nnd snml, Tlio evidence for nnd against tho claim wmb taken before the Compensation Court some time ago, nml the strictly legul phase of the case is before the prosent Court, whoso opinion is asked on a •*f\> of questions. Messrs. Tread well and Wilford appearied on bohalf of the claimant, nnd Dr. Findlay and Mr. Bunny for the respondent. Argument is preceding, and will last at Irani' the whole of to-day, and probably woll into to-morrow.
