THE ANGLO-FRENCH CONVENTION [rpKSS ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, 23rd August. The Ministerial journuls scathingly criticise Lord Rosebery's statement*, in which ho descrilxHl the Anglo-French Treaty ns disastrous, and suggested that the transaction was more likoly to promote than prevent unfriendliness with France. Tho Daily Chronicle is unable to understand why tho Convention is "diwistrous," especially in its provisions with, regard to Morocco. The- Westminster Oossettc ».iys Lord Rosebcry ought to oxplnin what trouble or dunger he foresees, and how unfriendliness between tho two nation* ia likoly to arise 1 .
