In tho Tlouso this afternoon, Sir Joseph said ho had received tho following reply from tho Deputy Postmaster-General at Ottawa: — " This Department considers dolay caused by steamers calling at Auckland would Fciimisly impede tho service Regret, theiefore, Imnblc agreo proposition." Sir Joseph Ward went on to say that apparently nothing furthei could be expected from Canada, as this was Iho second lefusnl of tho request Now Zealand had had from the Canadian Government.
