The newspapers .stalo that Sir Frances Knollys, Private Secretary to His Majesty, at Ilia King's command, intimated to (icneial Booth that His Majesty would be pleased to receive him. General Booth wus much impressed with the r J\ing's kindness, and deeply grateful for tho opportunity of submitting to him in f oi maliou regarding tho work of the Army. The King listened to the General with evident pleasure, and displayed special interest in the General's account of what his followers wcro doing to uplift the condition of tho poor. At tho close of tho interview, His Majesty cordi-ilty wished the Army continued prosperity and success in the work it wo 1 * endeavouring to carry out. The ni'wspapors udd thut the Sovereign and other royalties have recently token .\vni«nthetic intarcst in the operations of the Salvation Army.
