Tho sloiy of a marvellous cure is told in tho March number of "Our Hospitals and Charities." A patient when ho first arrivod nt tho London Hospital was a man without a face. It was eaten away by lupin*. There were eyes and there was a chin, little moro. The picluro is not ono good to think of. The disease was cured. The patient pa.sscd from one department to another. In ono he icceivud an artificial nose ; in anothor a counterfeit moustache and beard. Ho w.is rditled to take his place among his fellow-men in tho battio of life, lip had no palate ; it was eaten away by disoaso. His food had lo be poured down his I, throat. Tho surgeons gave him nn nrli- , ficial palate. Had the man coino to consult these various specialists as any other I than a hospital patient, his treatment I would have co f sl him hundreds of pounds. As it was, it no\er cost him a penny.
