The Bonrd of Governors of Canterbury College has decided to bring the boys of tho High School under clause 4 q! the Secondary Education Act, devoting onefifth of tho net income- from endowments to free plnces. Tho sum Avill be about £520, giving fifty-two free places. About this number of boys are already receiving free education, therefore there will be practically no change. The case of tho Girls' High School is still under consideration. '
