Owing to tho deadlock tho proposal to proroguo Parliament has falUn through. Tlio Council has adjourned till 7th January, and tho Houso till 12th January. THE DISPUTE IN THE TIMBER TRADE. (Received Dccombor 24, 10.10 a.m.) PERTH, This Day. The Arbitration Court has interpreted its award in the ease of the timber employees, which led to the recent strike. Tho Court stated that the award fixed tho minimum rate of pay, and it was competont for omployers to say that they will not pay more. The decision is very distasteful to the men, and further complications are feared.
