In the Police Court this morning the Stipendiary Magistrate gave judgment in the case Ayes v. the Patea County Council, a claim for damages for injuries sustained by plaintiff through his horse ehying at some timber for bridge-decking left near the Patea bridge, negligence being alleged against the Council. Judgment was entered up for plaintiff for £119 14s and costs, $$& 9s 2d. The Court -was asked to fii security for an appeal.
