CRICKET. WADESTOWN CLUB.
The annual general meeting of tho Wadestown Club was held at the Schoolroom last night. Mr. J. S. Orchard presided..- The report and balance-sheet were adopted on the motion of Mr. E. J. Wiflin. The club decided to sever its connection with the Hutt Valley Association, and to affiliate Avith the Wellington Cricket Association, and enter a team for the Junior Cup. The election of offers resulted as follows: — President, Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.H.R. ; Vioe-Presidents, Messrs, W. Nash, P. S. Hay, J. G. Chambers, J. Hutchison, R. B. Williams, J. D»,wson, D. Barr, G. Nash, A. H. Newbold, and the Rev. T. Kay ; Secretary, Mr. R. Moffatt ; Treasurer, Mr. J. Morton ; Management Committee, Messrs. E. J. Wiflin, J. M'Keown, H. Cook, S. Morton, and F. Larkin ; Match Committee, Messrs. S. Morton, E. J. Wiffin, and the captain (to be elected at the first match) ;Auditor, Mr. B. S. Withers ; Practice Captain, Mr. J. M'Keown ; Delegates to. the Association, Messrs. E. J. Wiffin and G. Warren-. The question of repairs to the practice wicket was referred to the committee. Tihe subscription for the senior members was fixed at 15s and the junior members 7s 6d. A long discussion took place ou the question of providing funds to wipe off a small deficit. The meeting decided to work up a concert if a suitable hall can be obtained in the district. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. R. Moffatt for carrying out the duties of Secretary last season. The Chairman presented Mr. Nash's bowling trophy to Mr. R. Moffatt. An enthusiastic meeting terminated with three ringing cheers for the Chairman. Mr. Davey, of Luke and Co. (Limited), j has received news of the death of his mother, wife of Mr. Chas. .Davey, man:B.gw of the Mont d- Or "wine c*. Ross.
