FULLER'S ENTERTAINERS.

The final appearance of Mr. Fred Bluett at the Choral Hall should bring his many admirers together there to-night. The Clare sisters, piquante and expert dancers, created a very favourable impression on their first appearance last night. Tomorrow night the prograjnme will be completely changed, and Mr. Joe Watts and Miss Madge Lucas will reappear. Mr. Bob Bell, end-man, has been engaged for Monday evening.

An elocutionary competition, was held at St. Peter's Club last evening, some of the recitations being really excellent. The judges awarded prizes as follows : — First, Mr. S. Tingey (gold medal) ; second, Mr. F. E. Franklyn (silver medal) ; third, Mr. A. Leeden (silver medal). A smoke concert was held by the Wellington Engineers last night. Lieutenant Lauchlan presided. During tie evening efficiency badges were presented to Sergt.Major Hower, Sergeants Beales and Sport, Corporals Gibb, Campbell, and Furniss, and Sapper Cunningham. The following contributed to the programme : — Sergt. Beales, Sergt. Claridge, Bugler Colpus, Sappers Mitchell, Diggle, Gapes, A. J. Smith, and Mr. C. Gray. Mr. S. Cimino presided at the piano." Corporal Furniss acted as secretary of the entertainment committee, and was responsible for the success of the gathering. The annual social reunion of members and friends in connection with the Wesleyan Literary and Debating Society was held in the Wesleyan Schoolroom, Tara-naki-street, last evening, and proved most successful. The first portir iof the entertainment consisted of a concert programme, the following items being rendered: — Instrumental selections by Miss and Masters Sewell and Mr. C J. Hill ; songs by Madame Muller and Miss Winnie Birch, and Mr. J. W. Hill ; humorous sketches by Mr. J. M. Izett • recitations by Misses May Harvey and M. M'Lean, every item 'being encored. Refreshments were served, and a conundrum competition took place, Mr. F. Tattle securing the prize. A very clever conjuring performance by Messrs. Palethorpe and Liardet completed the proceedings. At the conclusion of the entertainment a, hearty vote of thanks was accorded the performers. Next Thursday evening Mr. J. VV. Joynt will lecture on "Dante and his Times." At last night's meeting of Court Epuni, A.0.F., Petone, after disposing of routine business members of the court entertained the local Fire Brigade. Card and deckquoit tournaments were played, tho honours remaining with the hosts. The sale of work was continued in the Central Mission Hall last night. The concert programme- was contributed to by Mrs. M'Lellan and Messrs. Hurrell and Barber. The Mission's band and orchestra also contributed musical items.
