ENTERTAINMENTS, ETC.

SHERIDAN SEASON. Mr. John F. Sheridan's comedy company produced "Cinderella" for the second time at the Opera House last night, and there was a fairly good attendance. The piece was performed throughout with plenty of merry "hustling," and the songs, dances, and stage settings were cleverly done. To-morrow afternoon a matinee performance will be given, and in the evening "When the Lamps are Lighted" will be performed. The piece gives Mr. Sheridan an opportunity of playing "five distinct characters, and was written especially for him by George R. Sims while he (Mr. Sheridan) was playing in "Christopher Columbus." The rehearsal scene in act 2 of the piece is said to be one of the funniest skits on modem melodrama produced for years.
