SYDNEY WOOL AND STOCK SALES.
SYDNEY, 20th August. At the wool sales to-day the catalogue was small. There was a slight improvement in the demand and in prices as compared with last month. At tho Homebush stock sales to-day thero was an improved market for both sheep and cattle. Shoop. — Extra good wethers 23s 9d, best 20s, good IS3 to 19s; extra good ewes 20s 6d, best 19a, good 17s 6d to 18s 6d Cattle.— Best bullocks £13, good £12; best cows £9 15s, good £9. Beet beef brought 31s per 1001b.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co. have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated the 19th inst.—Tallow; — Sinca our last telegram low and inferior descriptions are higher by 3d per cwt, whilst other descriptions are unchanged.
