A LEAKY VESSEL.
Auckland, 20th August The Norwegian ship America, fiom Newcabtle <o Panama, coal-laden, put into Auckland to-day iv a leaky condition. The thip sailed on sth August, aud expei ieuced heavy south-east gales and sea, duriug wDich she begun to leak, making fiom Biu to lOin per hour. The captain has communicated with his owners by cable.
The Huadart-Porker steamer "Victoria, from Melbourne and South, is expected to put iv nn nppearauce at about 7 o'clock in tho morning-. She will leave in the afternoon direct for Sjdney. She has moie accimimodiilion for missionaries nnd greater speed, and it jst hoped by the authorities to extend the work of the missions to the huge islands of the Solomon group.
