Mr. Aitken presented a petition from Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains and 106 others in favour of the half-holiday being fixed on Saturday. Mr. J. E. Thomson presented a petition in favour of the half holiday being on Saturday . Petitions were also presented against tha abolition of tea coupons and against any alteration of the law in respect to extended river limits in the Auckland district. Mr. Field gave notice to ask the Government when it is proposed to bring down legislation dealing with the Porirua, Otaki, and other native school reserves. Mr. Ell gave notice to introduce the Totalisator Abolition Referendum Bill. "The Postmaster-General gave notice to introduce the Medical^ Practitioners' Registration Bill. The following Bills were read a first time : Wairewa County (Mr. Ell), Fine Arts 1877 Amendment Act 1879 Amendment (Mr. Field), Patriotic Funds and Clutha Floods Relief Fund Trustees Empowering (the Premier). The Workers' Compensation for Accidents Act Amendment Bill was brought down by Governor's Message and read a first time. (Left sitting.)
