BROKEN HILL WATER FAMINE. A SUPPLY TO BE CARRIED BY TRAIN. fPBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received July 14, 9.44 a.m.) SYDNEY, Thia Day. The South Australian Government has decided to supply 800,000 gallons of water weekly to Broken Hill, at ten shillings per thousand gallons. This quantity will take twenty-seven trains to convey. The cost is to be borne by New South Wales and South Australia equally. THE RECENT RAILWAY STRIKE (Received July 14, 9.44 a. m.) . MELBOURNE, This Day. Over two hundred enginemen received notice of dismissal in connection, with the recent railway strike. SMALLPOX AT LAUNCESTON. (Received July 14, 9.44 a.m.) LAUNCESTON, This Day. ■ One death has occurred from smallpox. Three suspected cases are under observation.
