At the District Court to-day, before Judge Ward, Peter Jones,' Patrick Campbell, William Edward Barrow, and Robert Davis were charged with escaping from custody. The two latter were also charged with theft-. Accused pleaded Guilty and were sentenced, Jones and Campbell to three months, and Barrow and Davis to four months' imprisonment each. Prisonera complained bitterly of the treatment they received in gaol before and after the offence.
