"LET GLASGOW FLOURISH BY —"
In recent jears the motto of Glasgow City has been shortened fiom "Let Glasgow Flourish by the Preaching of the Word" to "Let Glasgow Flourish" ; and a campaign to restore the musing words has failed. It was piobably the agitation on the subject that led to this being among the questions in a recent General Knowledge paper at a Glasgow school : What is the completion of the following : "Let Glasgow F.ourish by "? One 1 bright boy gave "Let Glasgow Flourish ! b;' All Means," and the version of anI other was "Let Glasgow Flourish by Fair I Means or Foul."
