* The Daily Chronicle states that Chapman and Hall, Dickens's publishers, find that the annual sale of Dickens,'s work" for many years past has averaged a quarter of a million copies. The iirstin point of popularity is "Pickwick;" then, with but slight difference in numbers, comes "David Copperheld." The increase in the sale »f the "Tale of Two Cities" Chapman and Hall attribute to the production of "The Only Way." Wlmn that play is being 'perf owned in the English provinces they can trace the course of the tour by the orders received.
The continuous entertainment is» the newest idea started in America, nnd now to be tried in London. A s>iulic«te has acquired a large area of freehold and leasehold ground near Charing Gross, and a company with £300,000 capital is being formed to build a gigantic colosseum:
