KATES ON THE PACIFIC LINE. [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] MELBOURNE, 28fh Nov. ' The Pacific Cab-e Board has advised the Federal Postmaster-General that the following rates have been fixed for messages from Australia, New Zealand, and Norfolk- Island to the United States : — Ordinary rates, 2s 2d per word, plus extra rates ranging from 2d to od for various states according tc their distances. Press rates are as follows : — Between Britain and Australia, Is per word ; between Canada and Australia, 9d, plus ! half the extra rate for each State as I indicated above. For ordinary messages the rate in each case includes Australasia. Terminal rates of 2d per word. Press messages will be accepted subject to the UMial conditions. [Full details as to the Pacific cable rates for -ordinary messages were published in the Post of Thursday last. The former *ates on Press messages were : — Great Britain, Is 2d per woTd ; rates for Caiiada are not published in the Postal Guide, but tiiose for the United States were Is 7d to Is 10d per word.] (Received November 29, 10.22 a.m.) ; MELBOURNE, This Day.
