ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
[nr TEI,EGBAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 17th November. William Watkins, aged eighteen years, whilst out rabbiting near Rapaki yesterday with a companion, fell down a cliff a hundred feet high and died soon afterwards. STRATFORD, 17th November. The dead body of a newly-born child has been found on a farm. At the inquest the jury found that the child died of neglect during or exposure after birth. A single girl, aged eighteen years, is suspected of being the mother, and of concealing the birth. WAIROA, This Day. At the inquest on the body of Miss Mary H. Holder, which was found in the river yesterday, a verdict of "Found Drowned" was returned. There was no evidence to show how she got into 'the river. It is surmised that she was blown off a boat at the wharf, the morning being squally.
