LATEST OFFICIAL NEWS.
NO SIGN OF THE MISSING BOAT OR RAFT. WRECKAGE DRIFTING FAR AWAY. Mr. Gray, Secretary of the General ron Office, late last night received the following telegram from the Postmaster flt Mangonui: — "Elingtimite sank in 55 fathoms off West King; diving would be impossible, weyhound and Penguin went round the shores of the Kings, but there were no signs of mailbags floating. All wreckage bioken and splintered and drifting E.N.E. Omapere picked up bale of kapok 92 miles E.N.E. of Kings. Only hope of caving mails is that they may drift and bo picked up by boat. Captain Chrisp, oi Umapere, is now wiring. Union Company, reoommending further and extensive search. Can you consult with manager, and if necessary wire me? Penguin is still cruising about North Cape and Kings. Sterling left Cape Maria at 6 o'clock to-night for further search 60 miles north-east."
