MR. CHAMBERLAIN AND THE BOER GENERALS.
THE RECENT CONFERENCE. [press association.] LONDON, 13th November. Telegrams from Brussels report that Generals Botha and De la Rey, in the recent interview with Mr. Chamberlain, asked him for an increase of the Imperial grants to the Boers, for the amnesty of rebels, and for permission for Mr. Kruger and other European leaders to return to South Africa. Mr. Chamberlain refused to discuss the question of amnesty or the return of the leaders. If it was found that, the grants were insufficient, he said he would apply to Parliament for more. It is stated that the Generals are dissatisfied at the result of the conference.
