On Saturday at Mirainar the football tournament of the Wellington Rifle Battalion was advanced ai\Jher stage. One of the conditions of ihe tournament is that each match must he played en until one team in any match is ths victorno '-draw" is allowed. This caused considerable extra work for some of the teams, and in the game between the Highland Rifles and Zealandia Rifles two hours were expended before the former were declared winners. The College Rifles -Civil Saivice Rifles contest resulted in the defeat of the latter team The final game between College Rifles and Highland Rifles lakes place next Saturday. The final heat for the Ordnance Shield between the Permanent Artillery and the £ avals was played off at Miramar on Saturday, and resulted in a win for the ™g guns" by 14 points to nil.
