[PBESS ASGOCJATIO J.] LONDON, 3fd October. At the wool salos 176,00) bales were catalogued, of which 97,400 .vere sold for Iho Home market, 61,000 for the Continental, and VOOO fpr the Amsrican, 26,500 bales being held over. Compared with, the July sales, good greasy merino closed at 10, good scoureds at 5, and &ew Zealand scoureds at pas to b per cent, higher, i'aulty merinos were unchanged, though occasionally in favour of buyers. Fine greasy crossbreds closed 7i, medium 10, coarse 7£, scoureds par to 5 "per cent., aud lumbs wool 5 to 10 per cent, higher. ' The "Hinarua" clip sold at 4|d per lb, and the "Gear" at sid.

•Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., have ■ recoived the f ollov/ing wool market cablegram trom their London house, Mssws. Sanderson, Murray obd Co., dated 2nd inst. : — Compared with tho closing rates of the last London sales, good greasy merino advanced 7£ per cent. ; scoured merino, good to extra, advanced par to 5 per cent ; inferior scoured merino and very fine scoured crossbred declined a shade. Inferior and faulty descriptions are relatively cheapest. Crossbred greasyi fi ne to extra fine, "advanced 5 per cent.; coarse to medium greasy crossbred advanced 5 to 10 per cent. ; scoured crossbred, conrse to medium, advanced a shade. The market is very' irregular. The number of bales held over i 9 20,000.
