The committee of the Otago Patriotic Fund bus written to the Defence Department, intimating that Lloyd's Patriotic Fund trustees have placed £1000 at the coroiiMttec'H disposal, 1o be distributed nt its discretion amongst members of New Ztxiland Contingents who have been "permanently disabled either by wounds, aooideiilH, oV distivbc through the late South African campaign." Tho commit lea has asked rht? Defence Department for a list of tho*o disabled who come within the scope of the giant, and for any details which would bo useful in guiding the committee in administering the fund. An it is possible that local committees may know of cases which aro not on Ihc Defence Office list, tho Otago committee would be pleated to receive information to enable it to administer tho fund o-quitauy among pcuiiiiuently disabled men of the whole colony.
