BALZAC'S NOVELS.
Judge Jonns JTutchinson, of Chicago, nssisted by a jury, has decided that Mrs. Mnry A. Jerome, who undertook to buy a complete net of Balzac's; novels in English, wns justified in repudiating the contract, on tho ground that passages in them were naughty rending. When the first volumes were delivered Mrs. Jerome read them herself beforo trusting them to her husband and children. The first volume excited her suspicions, thft second her alarm, the Ihird her horror, and tlio fourth compelled tho writing of a latter to the ngent to "Tako them away! Tako them away !" The ngent-vvent on delivering the books, ami then r;ued Mrs. Jerome, who triumphed in Court. ♦
