DEATH OF MB. ROBERT LAERY.

We regret to record the death of M*. Robert Laery, for many years one of Wellington's prominent and respected business men. The deceased gentleman, who was 65 years of, age, had not been in good health for a considerable time past, and his death will not thereto™ come as a surprise to those who had known, his condition. He suffered fioni an internal complaint, and in the hope of improving his health he made a trip to England^ last year. He returned by the Qothi". in October feeling very little better than when he left for Home. Since he came buck he had been under constant medical treatment. A few days ago his condition becamtt very serious, and ho passed away at the residence of hu son-ifi-law (Mr. E. P. Leviien) in Bullerstreet at 7 o'clock this morning. Mr. Laery was for many years one of our leading merchants. He was bora near Liverpool, and was a nephew of one of the Lieutenants who tewed in the victory at Trafalgar. He went to sea when he was a lad, and hud seen much of the world, having served in the Chinese war, and in a Chilian war, aud hat! been shipwrecked three times.
