At a conference of delegates representing Hnwera and part of ligmont County contributing bodies, it was decided that tho time was ripe for serration from the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Districts. A Committee was set up to define boundaries and draft a Bill for presentation to Parliaimmt. At tho 'Sitting of the Licensing Committee applications for oow licenses for Eltham caused some interest. Mr. Hawkins, owner of v hotel at 2\'ormanby, allowed his license to lapse and applied for one for a house at Eltham in course of erection. Mr. Moir also applied for a liconso for a house. As tiio license for a Norman by house does not fall in till the 30th instant, the Committee postponed its decision till Ist July, at the same time giving an indication that a license would probably bo issued to Mr. Hawkins. AUCKLAND, This Day. The Native Minister (Hon. J. Carroll) left for Wellington by fche Ngapuhi last night. The Trades and Lab cur Council has decided to conveno .an open-air public meeting for Saturday, to urge upon tho Government tho desirableness of nationalising flour and other food trusts, and to urge tho establishment of a co-opera-tive bakery in Auckltund. NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day.
