WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION.
The Qreytown, Carterton. and Masterton clubs, and the Wairarapa Thursday Union were represented at +he annual meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union, which was held at Carterton on ' Tuesday night. The following resolutions were passed : — That the management be recommended to take control over all grounds on which championship matches are to be played, and tnke all gate receipts ; that the senior championship banner is to be won thrice at intervals or twice in succession before it becomes tho bqlo property of any competing teamr that each senior team shall play each other team three times during the season for the championship, and that such matches shall commence on 17th May_. It was announced 1 that Carterton, Greytown, nnd Masterton had each entered senior and junior teams for the championships. Wairarapa's New Zealand representative, D. Udy, was presented with his cap by Mr. W. C. Buchanan. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Patron, Mr. W. C. Buchanan (re-elected) ,• President, Mr. E. M. D. Whatman (re-elected for the tenth consecutive time) ; Vice-PreHi-donts, Messrs J. T. M. Hornsby, M.H.R, Q, W. Deller, W. H. Booth, W. C. Ca»gill, and J. W. Card (all re-elected) ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. W. Bairstow ; Management Committee, Messrs W. J. Armstrong, W M'Kenzie, T. M'Kenzie, T. M 'Master, D. Udy f and two members from the Mostcrton Club 5 Match Committee, M»ssr» W M'Kenzie, W. C. Car\ gill, and H. Duff; Vice-President New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr. E. M. D. Whatman (re-elected for the tenth consecutive time). The affiliation of the Kaiwarra Club and other business will be considered at a general meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union on Wednesday evening. At a meeting of footballer*, held in Palmerston on Monday, it was decided to re-form the Manawatu Rugby Union, and to apply to the New Zetiland Union for affiliation. Donations amounting to £14 14s, towards ths old debt of £48 4s 6d of the Union, were promised in tho room. The Rovers Football Club decided last night to enter a team for the junior championship Officers were elected ns follows : — Captain, J. Moss ; ViceCaptain, A. Murch ; Secretary, J. Pye-Smith ; Match Committee, Waugh, P. Murch, E. Wvcherley, Captain and Secretary ex-omcio ; Delegate to Junior Association. J. Moss. A club practice will be held on Saturday at Miramar. The juniors will play in white.
