Ostiak soon rushed through, and led Shrapnol Shell, Bowman, and Canteen along tho back by five lengths, the field being strung out, and Jabber, Okoari, and Halberdier having a bad run along tho back. Ostiak held his position around the bend, with Shrapnel Shell, Hinetaura, Canteen, Boy. man running next, and Halberdier making up ground. Ostiak, with Jenkins lying on his neck, ran homo tho easiest of winners by four lengths, a good set-to between Canteen and llinctaura up the straight, ending in favour of the former by .i head. Halberdier came f.ast at tho end, and was a neck behind Hi tietaura. Thon came Shrapnel Shell fifth. Jabber, Fleka, and Fakir. Tho last three were Tradewind, Okoari, and Plaidio.
