WATER CONSERVATION.
In the waterworks bylaw which it confirmed on Wednesday afternoon the City Council has initiated a tentative system of water meters for certain specified purposes. This is a step m the right direction, since it will in all probability check somfc of tho waste which, appears to have been going on. It will, at anyrate, mean that those who use water for gardens and sundry other purposes beyond tie average domestic requirements will have to pay according to the quantity they ÜB6.
