At a. meeting of the local branch of the Farmers' Union on Saturday resolutions appreciative ot the gallant stand made by the Seventh Contingent in the recent fight, and in favour of a preferential tariff within the Empire, were passed. The annual convention of the Wfomen's Christian Temperance Union will begin here on Wednesday.
