REEFTON, Bth March. The Alpine mine manager reports thafi No. 11 level south has been extended 6 feet, making the total distance front where the reef was first struck 45 feet. A branch drive north has been extended 6 feet, making the total distance from, the main drive 29 feet. The reef in the north end is looking well. It is 3 feet;, wide, and good gold is to be seen in- it.] The contractors in No. 7 level have driv-« en 10 feet, making the total distance 80 feet. They are now cross-cutting east from the level for the purpose of pick* ing up the small reef. DUNEDIN, 9tK March. DUNEDIN, This Day. Nelson Creek return is 970 a. The Rocklands Beach dredge obtained. 29qz lOdwt amalgam for 115 hours. The Haiiheu Greek dredge obtained 13oz 6dwt gold for 87 hours. The dredgemaster of the Wakamarina •Golden Point Dredging Co. reports: — "Big flood in the Wakamaxina" river., Dredge riding all right." Owing to the liver having been in high flood during the week there was not the customary wash up dn Saturday last, and the river had not gone down sufficiently for work to be resumed that day.
