"Ward, Hon fa'eddon, Messrs Bel], Beech, Hodgson, Cbristensou, Newton, Walker, Seaton, Earnshaw, Kerr, Harrison, Woodward, Bouife, Goodlet, M'lvor, Morrison, Gardner, Dresser, Finlay, Dickson ; 11 steerage Tbe Talnne, from Sydney, passed Farewell Spit at ball -post 11 o'clock this morning. She should arrive in tbe stream between 7 and 8 o'clock to-night. Tbe Eittawa, which lias been withdrawn by Ibe Union Steam Ship Company from tbe New Zealand coal-carrying service, sails for Sydney this evening. She is to be employed in tbe Tasmanian trade. Mr John H. Barton, of Dnnediu, bas been successful in passing his examiifetion at Wellington before Captain Blackburne, Chief Examiner, as second mate of a foreign-going vessel. He studied at GiSord's Navigation School.
