[BT TELEGRAPH — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] GREYTOWN NORTH, This Day. Mr. Daniel Cameron, senior, aged 81 years, a resident of Greytown for 20 years, died here last night. Mr. Thomas Clemance Udy, of Dalefield, is applying to the Commissioner of Crown Lands for lease of 200 acres of the Waiohine block for coal-mining purposes. x MASTERTON, This Day. Mr. Arthur Poulson has been appointed turncock to the Borough of Masterton. The ( Mayor of Wellington will ripen the Presbyterian bazaar in the local Town Hall this afternoon. The Masterton Borough Council last night decided to invite the Minister for Railways to be present at the opening of the new railway station here next month. Committees were set up to make the nee'essary arrangements. It is reported that many trout in the Masterton streams axe dying from tutupoisoning. Since Friday last 15,000 freezing sheep have- been sent by railway from here to the Wellington freezing works. William Pickett and Charles Burling, of Temii, have each been fined £5 and costs for breach of the Stock Act in driving sheep through Messrs. Hapdyside, Roberts, and Co.'s land without the consent of the. occupier. The Upper Plain Sunday School was totally destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. At .a special meeting of the Masterton Borough Council to-day, Councillors Eton and Jackson were appointed to the Wairarapa District Hospital Board.
