« THE ATTEMPT TO ASSASSINATE THE DOWAGER-EMPRESS. [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received November 5, 9.29 a.mi) LONDON, 4th November. Shanghai advices state that the Dow-ager-Empress of China, while embarking in a boat for the purpose of crossing the river at Honan-fu, in the inland province 'of Honan, was attacked by a man with a spear, and her attendant was killed. ■ The assailant was slain by the Empress's entourage.
