BOER RAIDERS. COMMANDANT ' SCHEEPERS'S ILLNESS. LONDON, 7th October.
, On Thursday Commandant Scheepers sent a messenger, under a flag of truce, into Ladismith, in Cape Colony, 170 miles east of Capetown, asking for a doctor. On Friday morning Major Kavanagh attacked him at Adams Kraal, capturing eight men. Scheepers, although he wals supposed to be suffering from enteric fever, quitted his camp and escaped on horseback. Pretorius, who Tvas wounded during the engagement at Snikstroom, has succumbed. Field-Cornet Van Vouren and ten of the prisoners taken at Jammersberg Drift declare they, were . in ignorance of Lord Kitchener's proclamation.
