RAGE BETWEEN WARSHIPS. TESTING RIVAL BOILERS.
rrilEBS AB8O01ATION.) (Received July 19, 8.67 a.m.) LONDON, 18th July. H.M.B. Hyacinth, with Belleville boilers, and H.M.S. Minerva, fitted with Scotch cylindrical boilers, have started from Gibraltar on a race to Portsmouth for the purpose of testing -the relative value of the boilers. ' [Both these vessels ,are twin-screw cruisers of the second-class, of ,6500 tons, and carrying 11 guns. The engines of the Hyacinth aro of 10,000 horse-power, and those of the Minerva 9600.]
