Minerva, fitted with Scotch cylindrical boilers, have started from Gibraltar on a race to Portsmouth for the purpose of testing -the relative value of the boilers. ' [Both these vessels ,are twin-screw cruisers of the second-class, of ,6500 tons, and carrying 11 guns. The engines of the Hyacinth aro of 10,000 horse-power, and those of the Minerva 9600.]
