In consoquence of the stoppage of goods traffic on the Southern lines to-day the stook market was very small. • Fat Cattle — Only 86 head were yarded. Some good sorts, chiefly heifers, brought £5 5s to £9 10s, and steers £7 2s to £3 17s 6d; best beef, 20s tq 24s per 1001b. Store Cattle — Under 40 head yarded. Anything in full profit or approaching that stage reached good prices, which ranged from £5 5a to £9 15s. Fat Sheep — The small market did not cause any increased demand, except for freezing wethers. "Wethers brought fronj 16s 3d to 19s 3d; second-class sorts, 14s to 15s 9d ; crossbred owes, 123 6d to 15s 9d. ' No merinos were offerod. Fat Lambs — About 600 penned. All sold readily at a slight advance. Prices — 182 good freozers brought 15s lid.; 127, 15s IOd; and a line of unfinished sorts sold at 14a. Butchers' lambs sold from 11s to 13s 6d. Store Sheep — Ovor 1500 were penned, consisting mainly of crossbred wethers, for which there was an improved demand. Sales were^-201 at IS3 6d, 442 at'l3s 6d, and 357 at 15s 2d. Ewes in small lines sold at prices ranging from 7s 8d to 15s 9d. The demand for store lambs was on a par with last week's, and every line Bold at from 9s 9d to 10s lOd. Pigs — About 400 wore yarded. Prices for baconors fell decidedly. Best 'quality, which last week sold up to 545, brought from 088 to 455. Lighter sorts and porkers wore correspondingly dull of sale, being disposed of at from 18s to 27s 6d, oqual to soaroejy 3£d per lb. Baconera ranged from 3d to 3id ; woaners and suckers from 5a 3d to 10s, and young pigs up to 17s. * NAPIER, 27th Juno. Messr3.
