WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION.
The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last .evening, Mr. N. Golbraith presiding. -*' In consequence of the New Zealand representative match taking place on 31st August at Wellington, it was decided to invite tlie Hawkes Bay team tp p|ay here on £4tb.' August.. It was ulso decided to ask the Wairarapa junior representatives to play at Wellington on 3rd or lOUi July. " - . The- representative programme, now stands:— Wellington v. Wairarapa, 20th July; v. Canterbury, 3rd August; v. {Southland, 7tk August; v. Otago, lOtlx August; v. -New South Wales, 17th August ; New South Wales v. New Zealand, 31st August; Wellington v. Auckland, 14th September. The following dates are suggested: — 'Wellington v.' Marlborough, 3rd or 10th August; v. Hawkes,. Bay, 24th August; v. Taranaki, 7th September. In addition to the above programme for senior repre- j sentatives, there are three matches likely , to be played by the juniors. ! The Rangitikei ' Football Union Tvroto ' asking for a match against a Wellington , junior representative team during the present year at Feilding. It was resolved to accede to, the request, the date to be arranged later on. In connection with, the match between New South Wales and Wellington, it was decided to hand over the whole of the proceeds to the New Zealand Rugby .Union. , Tho case of ,M. Welch, of the Kia Ora team, was gone into. After a good deal of discussion, it was decided that the evidenoe was not conclusive enough to take a more serious viow of the matter than to administer a reprimand to the player, and to point out that his conduct was not what it should have been as captain of his club.
