TEACHERS' SALARIES COMMISSION,
■ » [BT TELEGBAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] TIMARU, This Day. The Teachers' Salaries! Commission completed its work here this morning, and will proceed to Auckland. • Mr. Valentine, Secretary of the Teachers' Institute, and two country teachers, were examined: They approved the colonial scale, but considered the salaries still inadequate in comparison with the pay in other employments.. All complained of the method of reckoning the working average as effected by the weather, epidemics, and country employments. The Rev. G. Barclay, member of the Education Board, recalled, impressed upon the Commission the inadequacy of the proposed allowance to Boards for committees and other expenses. It should be 13s or 14s instead of 11s 3d.
